WINCHESTER, Va., Jan 29, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Trex Company, Inc. (NYSE: TWP), manufacturer of Trex(R) decking, railing, fencing and trim, today announced the appointment of F. Timothy Reese to the newly created position of vice president, operations, effective February 5, 2008. Mr. Reese will be responsible for manufacturing, engineering and logistics.

"Tim is a proven leader with decades of experience in operations and manufacturing," commented Ronald W. Kaplan, president and chief executive officer of Trex. "He has successfully led multi-plant, high-technology manufacturing with full P&L operations responsibility for businesses with annual sales of as much as $400 million. Mr. Reese, age 55, joins Trex after 28 years with DuPont, where he most recently served as operations director/Americas for DuPont Teijin Films, the world's leading differentiated producer of PET and PEN polyester films. During his career at DuPont, he managed operations for six businesses, including responsibility for more than 1,000 employees, laboratory R&D facilities and multiple manufacturing sites.

Prior to joining DuPont in 1979, Mr. Reese served in the U.S. Navy as a submarine officer, finishing his five years of military service as a lieutenant. He earned a B.S. in Ocean Engineering with an emphasis on mechanical engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD.
