WINCHESTER, Va., Feb 6, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Trex Company, Inc. (NYSE: TWP), manufacturer of Trex(R) decking and railing, today announced the appointment of A. Catherine Lawler as Senior Vice President - Marketing.

Ms. Lawler is succeeding Andrew Ferrari, who has announced his plans to retire.

Throughout her career, Ms. Lawler has directed highly successful marketing programs for many major brands, including Crayola(R) with Binney & Smith, and Maxwell House(R), at that time one of the largest brands at General Foods (now a Kraft Foods brand). She has extensive experience both in new business development and brand building. At Binney and Smith, for example, she was instrumental in expanding the vision of Crayola from crayons to a full complement of creative crafts.

Most recently, Ms. Lawler served as Vice President of Marketing for Chicago-based Market Day, a successful fundraising food cooperative. Prior to joining Market Day, Ms. Lawler held marketing positions of increasing responsibility with General Foods, Binney & Smith, and NOMA International. She received her MBA in marketing and finance from Columbia University.
