Trex Company Wins ACG's Emerging Growth Company Award

WINCHESTER, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 10, 2005--Trex Company, Inc. (NYSE: TWP) has won the Emerging Growth Company Award from the National Capital Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG). ACG selected Trex Company from a field of six entrants for its consistent, sustainable and profitable growth. Over a three-year period ending December 31, 2004, Trex Company earnings per share grew at a compounded annual rate of 42%.

In presenting the award, Shiv Krishnan, President and CEO of INDUS Corporation and incoming President of ACG National Capital Chapter, said, "Trex Company exemplifies the entrepreneurial spirit, solid corporate culture with community involvement, and strong corporate growth associated with emerging industry leaders within our National Capital Region."

ACG's Emerging Growth Company award is based on a combination of quantitative factors, including revenue growth, profitability, and market share gains, and subjective factors, including culture, community involvement and demonstrated leadership qualities. Award nominees must have $100 million to $500 million in revenue for the most recent fiscal year. Quantitative growth factors are evaluated over a three-year period.
